E-2 pattern states to work in solid color as in directions for 5 rnds. work 6th rnd in navy color

 

E-3-states to work 5 rnds as in directions for E-1, except work each rnd in a different color. 6th rnd work in navy.

 

 

E-1

 

circle motif( granny)

 

With first color  ch 4, sl st in 1st ch to form ring

 

Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 12 sc in center of ring;join with sl st to beg sc, do not end off

 

Rnd 2: NOTE: work in both loops, ch 3 ( counts as  1 dc), 2 dc in same sp, ch 1* sk next sc, 3 dc in next sc, ch 1, rep from* around (6 groups of 3 dc) Join with sl st to beg dc. Do not end off.

 

Rnd 3:work 1 sl st in top of next dc, ch 3, 1 dc in same sp,* ch 1, sk next dc, 2dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk next dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from* around ( 12 groups of 2 dc) , ch 1 join with sl st to beg dc. end off

 

Rnd 4: Attach second color in ch 1 sp, ch 3 ( counts as first dc), Work * ( 3 dc, ch 3, 3dc) in same sp corner, 3 dc bet next grou of 2 dc, 2 times, rep from * 3 more times, join with sl st to beg dc . end off.

 

Rnd 5 : Attach third color, work 1 sc in each st and between groups of dc and in each corner work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc. join with sl st to beg sc. end off.

 

Rnd 6: Attach navy in ch 3 corner, ch 3( counts as first dc) work * ( 2 dc in same sp, ch 3 3dc) in corner sp*, ** sk next 2 sts,3 dc in next sat, rep from * through ** around, join with sl st to beg dc. end off.

        Border--Rnd 1: with scond color work 1 sc in each along edges and ( 2 sc ch,2sc ) in each corner

                 Rnd 3: work( 3 dc, ch 2 3dc) in each corner and 3 dc in every third st along all edges. End

Designing my quilt..

I have been thinking it might be interesting for those of you to see how I have design my quilt.....
My quilt is what our wee farm and my gardens look like.

First I went outside and look at our house( the front of it)

              this what it first look like, I was thinking about designing how I wished it would look like
         but realized I really didn't like it, that wasn't my goal on this quilt( maybe a wall-hanging).
                                    So, I started again

 

Our house is basically a rectangle. So I drew one on a piece of paper

Our house is blue in color right now. so I used blue fabric.

using fat quarters.

and drew squares for windows using white fabric.

 

The front of our house has a front porch on it.

So I drew the posts first and used brown for them and the front porch

 

 

I made the door white as well

both have curtains that are not white

 

       The finished house with the beginnings of the lilac shrub that is next to the house

                                           Well that is enough for now

                                   Will try and post something once a month on my quilt
                                                   or something quilt related

This is another granny square from the Better homes and garden book

E-6:( 1 circle Motif)-Work motif as done in E-3(in which we haven't done yet) Work 5 rnds from the E-1 pattern

With first color ch 4 sl st  in 1st ch to form a ring

work each motif with different colors

Basic star square; ch 3 sl st to first ch. to form a ring.

 

Rnd;1 * 1sc in snter of ring, ch 4, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each of the next 2sc. Rep fro * 4 more times( 5 spoke center) join with sl st to beg sc. end off.

                                                    Rnd 2:Attach new color in center top st of any spoke, ch 1 sc in same sp, * sk next three sc, ( 1trc,1dc,1 trc) in next st, sl st to top of next spoke. Rep from* around, join swith sl st to beg st. do not end off.

 

Rnd 3: * sk next st, 9 1 hdc,1 dc, 1 trc, ch 1 , 1 trc, 1dc,1 hdc)  in top of next st, sk next st, sl st in top of next st, rep from * around. join with sl st to beg st.end off.

 

 

Rnd 4;

Attach another color in ch 1 back loop st at any point * sk next 3 st, ( 1 trc, 3 dc, 1trc) in next st, sk next 3 sts, sl st back loop of ch 1 point, rep from * around; join with sl st to beg st. end off.

 

 

Rnd 5:

Attach second color in any st. ( work through both loops0 2 sc in each st around( 60 sc.);join with sl st to beg sc. end off.

With star point at top, count clockwise 8 sc from point ( this will be in sc above third dc in rnd 4) attach same color as rnd 2, work ch 6, 1 trc in next sc,* 1 dc in next sc, 1 hdc in each of next 2 sc, 1 sc in each of next 7 sc, 1 hdc in each next 2 sc, 1 dc in next sc, 1 trc in next sc, ch 2, 1 trc in next st. Rep from * around;join with sl st to top of 4th ch of beg ch 6.End off.

 

 

Rnd 7; Attach same color as rnd 4 in ch 2 corner sp , ch 3,1sc in same sp* 1 sc each in next 15 sts,1 sc in next ch 2 sp. rep from* around; join with sl st to beg st end off

 

Rnd 8: attach same color used in rnd 4 in ch 2 corner, rep from rnd 7 ( 17 sc on each side)

 

Rnd 9: attach same color as rnd 5 in any corner sp( ch 2,1 hdc, ch 3 , 2 hdc) in same sp,* sk next sc, 2 hdc in next sc, rep from * across to next corner * work ( 2 hdc, ch 3, 2 hdc) in same cornere sp, rep from * around;join with sl st top of beg ch 2. end off.

Violet motif...(H-1)
start at center with yellow, ch 4, sl st to beg ch to form ring.
RND1: * 1 sc in centerof ring, ch 4 , rep from* 3 more times, join with sl st to beg sc. End off.

RND 2: attach lavender in sc st ,1 slst in same sp* ( 1 sc ,1hdc,1dc,1hdc,1sc) in next ch 4 sp, 1 slst in next sc ( petal) rep from * 3 more times,join with sl st to beg st. end off.

RND 3: Atach green to back loop of sc in any petal, ch 3 9 counts as 1 dc), 1dc, ch 3 ,2 dc in same sp, 2dc in back loop of next hdc in previous rnd,* ch 1 sk next 3 sts in previous rnd, 2 dc in back loopf next hdc,( 2 dc, ch 3,2dc), in back loop of next hdc, rep from * 2 more times,join with sl st to top of beg dc. end off.

RND 4: Attach lavender and work 1 hdc in each st along all edges and ( 2 hdc , ch 3,2hdc) in each ch 3 corner. End off

RND 5: Attach white in ch 3 corner,( ch 3 , 1 dc, ch 3, 2dc), in same sp,* sk next hdc sp,2 dc in next hdc, rep from* along all edges and ( 2dc, ch 3,2 dc) in each ch 3 corner.end off

Well continuing with my blog post from before the new year started...Right now I am working on the Granny square sampler afghan in the Better homes and gardens Crochet and knitting book

Starting in the center top...F- 1 was done on Dec 21..

now the second square...A-3

A-3: ( 2 granny squares with 3 rnds each)

with first color ch 4; join with sl st to form a ring

Rnd 1: ch 39 counts as 1 dc) 2 dc in center of ring, rep from * 2 more times, end with ch 3; join with sl st to top of ch 3. End off

 

Rnd 2: with second color , in ch 3 sp of previous rnd work ( ch 3, 2dc ch  3, 3 dc) ( corner),* in next ch 3 sp work ( 3dc, ch 3, 3dc) rep from* twice, join with sl st to top of ch 3. End off.

 

 

Rnd 3: with third color, ( ch 3 2dc, ch 3 ,3dc) in ch 3 at corner sp, then work 3dc between each 3 dc group on sides and ( 3 dc, ch 3 ,3dc) in each corner; join with sl st . End off.

Happy New Year....This year I will try and post a granny square pattern each week....so Hopefully I can get this done....I hope everyone has lots of crafts done this year...I might even throw in a few quilt patterns as well
